Oh that would be really easy, would it not? I'm sure, being a Shadowdancer, you know all about the Mysteries and intricacies of the Arcane. Why, poking them with a sharp metal stick is easy, why can't sending bolts of pure energy derived from the very essence of reality, directed specifically at a target rather than destroying the entirety of existence be any different? Risking the mortal planes so that you can loot the pretty chest sooner is obviously a worthwhile investment of the nigh unobtainable powers of a 26th level Wizard.

To be fair, Isaac's Missile generations have been my mainstay for the entire campaign. The simple fact is that it is not the most powerful spell in the game in terms of raw numbers. Hellball, Dragon's Breath and others beat it on those terms. There are a number of instant-death true AOE spells that kill everything in a radius independent on the total number of creatures inside the radius.

However, the campaign designers decided that practically every monster in HOTU was invulnerable to death magic, and in most cases had massive elemental resistance. When you're a necromancer (which I was) and everyone's immune to death magic you get a little irritated. Magic missile, however, isn't stopped by elemental resistances and thus was more effective. Even then when I use maximised Isaac's greater missile storm I only have a limited number of uses, in the region of 5 or 6. If I used it on every Frost Giant, I'd be out of spells before we even reached the pit fiends and then I wouldn't hear the end of it 'why did you waste your most effective spells on frost giants!?' At least you were impressed by my Summoned Red Dragon.

And you didn't so much 'trick' him to death as force his demise through economics.

    see? buncha useless wizard talk.

Stabby Stabby... face, back, side its mostly all the same.
    Mostly. *Sneak Attack Backstab!*

Clearly what we need is a plate wearing sword (or axe) carrying meat shield. (Paladins need not apply) Things would go so much better. I mean this business of having to keep one eye on your squishyness highness and one on the bad guys is really cutting in to my primary directive objective. The only clear answer is to be more chaotic. Perhaps a certain halfling would be able to put a good spin on this issue.
