Every Day is A School Day
Things I learned this week...
I work with more than a few former Marines and they like to play...
random radio chatter all night... then
unknown to me voice - oorah
airport dispatch - Sierra Foxtrot
my supervisor - copy
of course I got it, and I laughed a little out loud. Many people didn't.
Also Marines get ribbons/medals for two things and I got 4 hours of OT for knowing what they are.
Killing people, and showing up.
Perhaps the best thing I learned this week... eggnog and bailey's is just damn awesome (when mixed of course) I think I put about 1/4 bailey's to the amount of eggnog I had, so yummy.
in other news I have new shoes, corframs to be precise. If you don't know what that is think really shiney shoes. or google it. If only I had enough skill to get my boots to shine like that. I can't think of much I love more than my boots. maybe my cat... maybe.
40 days and 40 nights
This is how long it took once I started driving myself to work outside the house, for me to get pulled over. Why was I pulled over you ask? Well, you're probably not really asking that cause you already know I drive fast. 55 in a 40 is the reason. Now ordinarily this would have been a 4 point infraction, but I still had my uniform on, (was driving home from work at 10am mind you 4 hours past the time I'm usually off) and I guess he felt like giving me a little break since he recognized the company and where I work at (the airport whee!). So instead I have a zero point ticket for 'Failure to wear a seatbelt'.
Now part of me would rather have gotten the speeding ticket than say that I am guilty of not wearing a seatbelt, cause I wear my seatbelt ALL THE TIME, and when have you ever known me to admit to something I didn't do? But the rational part of my mind will gladly trade a 4 point $400+ ticket plus driving suspension at work, for a 0 point $20 ticket with no impact on my job.
Yes I think I may have finally found a compelling reason to drive slow, or at least look for a more entertaining way to drive back and forth from work.
YAY!
Kitty's blood tests area back and its negative for toxoplasmosis. So I get to lower his meds dosage and everything will be peachy in 10ish days we hope.
my poor smokey
He has an eye infection, Uveitis to be exact.
I get to give him eye drops three times a day and pills twice, so think happy thoughts for him, and for my arms the next 10 days.
His eye looks alot like that second picture but its less cloudy and the red is mostly just around the outside of the eye. Hopefully (for me) the blood tests will show negative for toxoplasmosis, and it will be one of those 'we don't know why' types, I'll find that out in a few days.
