Who really controls the Bush puppet
This is a very well written account of how things happen in the Cheney administration, (click the blue chapter titles) it's in 4 chapters and takes quite a while to read, but in my opinion is very well worth the time.
I'm probly one of the most
people you know and even I was surprised by the reach of the Vice President.
Who said it?
See if you can guess who this quote is from.

THIS JUST IN FROM CBS:
To the Fans of Jericho:
Wow!
Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.
As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of "Jericho" for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more "Jericho," we will need more viewers.
A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show. But that community needs to grow. It needs to grow on the CBS Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where we make the show available.
We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.
At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that "Jericho" will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences. This includes re-broadcasting "Jericho" on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on.
On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for expressing your support of "Jericho" in such an extraordinary manner. Your protest was creative, sustained and very thoughtful and respectful in tone. You made a difference.
Sincerely,
Nina Tassler
President, CBS EntertainmentP.S. Please stop sending us nuts :-)
More nutty business
For weeks, "Jericho" junkies have been firing e-mails (effectively shutting down InBoxes at CBS and this newspaper), signing petitions and sending bags of nuts to CBS headquarters in protest.
The assault seems to have worked, "Jericho" creator and executive producer Carol Barbee said Tuesday. CBS executives are in discussions with the show's producers and actors to resuscitate the show -- killed just last month -- for an eight-episode run in mid-season.
After almost 40,000lbs this nut campaign just might be working.
In other news I watched all 6 seasons of Oz this last couple weeks, and I must say, Holy. Fuck.
I laughed, I cried, I loved, I was disappointed, I cried some more. Before I had only seen maybe 5 total episodes but after seeing the whole story... wow, just wow.
Nuts.
In WWII the Allies were making short work of the Germans across several points of attack since D-Day, pushing towards Germany. In December there was a massive German pushback, which dented into Allied lines like a bulge on a map, the goal being to split the Allied forces. They surrounded the city of Bastonge, trapping US forces in, and when the Germans asked them to surrender, Gen. Anthony McAuliffe, of the U.S. Army, sent back a note with one word.
His response: "Nuts."
Do many americans care that our president invents new powers for him self and puts them in untouchable directives every few months or so? Do they care that so many children aren't being given a decent education in this country? Do they care about the 'war on terrorism' and our troops in Iraq and other middle eastern countries? Do you think anyone not from the area still cares about the devistation from hurricane Katrina?
Not nearly as much as they care about CBS canceling the popular show 'Jericho'.
How did I come to this conclusion you ask. Well how many people do you think speak out daily about the previously mentioned issues? It's either not very many (compared to the total population) or its an elaborate scheme by the republican owned corporations controlling the news broadcasts and no one has picked up on it yet.
The news about this tv show's canclation has only been public for, what, maybe 2 weeks? Already more than 20k (thats 20,000, or twenty thousand) pounds of nuts have been shipped to CBS so far.
I guess you can't make people care about things they should, but the fact that people still care enough about something to do something says a little.

CBS has issued a public response, personally I think they'll have to do better.
To the fans of Jericho:
We have read your emails over the past few days and have been touched by the depth and passion with which you have expressed your disappointment. Please know that canceling a television series is a very difficult decision. Hundreds of people at the Network, the production company and the incredibly-talented creative team worked very hard to build and serve the community for this show -- both on-air and online. It is a show we loved too.
Thank you for supporting Jericho with such passion. We truly appreciate the commitment you made to the series and we are humbled by your disappointment. In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story.
Sincerely,
Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment
