Even a democracy can elect a dictator.
It's probly been a while since I've talked about my tinfoil hat idea that something will happen before or just after the presidential election next year to keep the current administration in power.
Oh it can never happen, you say. We have 3 branches of government, checks and balances, you say. Oversight etc... One unstopped 'terrorist attack' is all it will take people.
Well it seems that not only has the executive branch (the president is in this one) decided that they don't have to cooperate with any congressional subpoena but congress doesn't 'need to know' anything about the current continuity of government plan. (the plan that lays out who has what powers and what exactly happens should a major event happen, probly the scale of or slightly worse than 9/11).
As a member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, DeFazio, D-Ore., is permitted to enter a secure "bubbleroom'' in the Capitol and examine classified material. So he asked the White House to see the secret documents.
On Wednesday, DeFazio got his answer: DENIED.

Take two minutes out of your day - phone Chairman Conyers at 202-225-5126 and ask him to start the impeachment of Dick Cheney; and phone your own Congress Member at 202-224-3121 and ask them to immediately call Conyers' office to express their support for impeachment. Your Congress Member might just be one of the three needed, not just to keep us out of jail but to keep this nation from devolving into dictatorship.

Well this is interesting...
over the last few years I've heard a lot about how there's tension between the FDNY and Mayor Giuliani (now former mayor). Last week this story came out which seems to point to why there's tension and to why the FDNY doesn't support his campaign for presidency. I don't know if I just wasn't paying attention to the news when this first came out(whisperings started right after 9/11), or if being 2 or three time zones away (depending on when) it just wasn't deemed important by the powers that control our local news media.
After watching that I was skeptical, but I like being informed when choosing who gets my vote. So I kept poking around for information and I ran across this story in Rolling Stone magazine. See if you can read all 4 pages and not get a bit nauseous, or at the very least shocked at some of the allegations.
Either way watch for your self.
